Moretonhampstead Swimming Pool

 

 We are a community run, open air swimming pool on the eastern edge of Dartmoor, open from May to September. We heat the pool using air source heat pumps and solar and aim to keep it at around 27 degrees. The pool is 25 metres long and there is also a toddler/baby pool.

We have changing facilities (including family and disabled facilities) as well as a small shop offering hot and cold refreshments.

The pool is surrounded by grass, picnic benches and trees as well as a sun terrace, making it a lovely relaxing place to spend an afternoon.

We offer lane swimming sessions, Water Polo (Thursday evenings) and open sessions for all leisure swimmers. We have an array of toys, floats and rings for children to play with at no extra charge.

In the holidays we run regular swimming lessons with a qualified swim coach - for children and adults.

You can book the pool out for private hire for a party or club use.

As we are a registered Charity, we rely on people volunteering their time to keep the pool open.

- Working in our shop (training given)

- Lifeguarding (training given)

- Selling lottery tickets

- Helping at our pool working parties (maintenance of the pool and grounds)
